Male Pattern Hair Loss: Why Do Men lose Hair?

Androgenic Alopecia
It is commonly understood as “Male Pattern Baldness” and accounts for 95% of hair loss in men. Balding or alopecia is a normal process that is commonly seen in Men. It is influenced by Hormones, Family History, Lifestyle choices like nutrition, smoking etc. and sometimes stress, severe infections and medications.

Alopecia areata
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease characterised by non-scarring hair loss in single or multiple areas of the scalp, face or body. It is quite a common condition and about one person in 50 will experience an episode of alopecia areata.
The scalp is most commonly affected. There are no symptoms associated with the hair loss and the scalp skin looks normal. New hair eventually grows back but it can take many months.
It is now possible to slow the progression of hair loss and replace lost hair through surgery.
